Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the cloudsynth.dev website and services (the "Service"), operated by CloudSynth Ltd ("CloudSynth", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales.

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an employer, you represent that you are authorised to accept these Terms on their behalf. The Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16.

Your account

You sign in with a GitHub or Google account; we don't operate passwords. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in provider secure. You may not share an account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

The Service

CloudSynth is a learning platform for infrastructure as code. Free material is available to everyone; interactive features (including code verification, hints, reference solutions, progress, and exports) require a paid pass. We may change, add, or remove features over time; if a change materially reduces what an active pass includes, we'll tell you.

Acceptable use of the code sandbox

Exercises let you submit code that runs in our isolated sandbox. You agree not to submit code intended to probe, escape, or abuse the sandbox or the Service — including attempts to access networks or credentials, exhaust resources, disrupt other users, or reverse-engineer the verification system. We apply rate limits and may suspend accounts that abuse the sandbox.

Content and licence

The Service's content is owned by CloudSynth Ltd. Your pass grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to use the content for your own learning. You may not resell, redistribute, or systematically copy the content, or circumvent access controls. Code you write in exercises is yours; solutions you export to your own repositories are yours to use.

Payments

CloudSynth Ltd is the seller of record for your purchase; payments are processed on our behalf by Stripe, which handles payment collection, card data, and receipts, and calculates applicable sales tax/VAT on our behalf. Your payment details are provided to Stripe, not to us, and Stripe's own terms and privacy policy apply to how it handles that data. Membership is a subscription that renews automatically — monthly or annually, depending on the plan you choose — until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Settings or via your Stripe receipt; cancellation stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the period already paid for. Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms; if we terminate without cause during an active subscription period, we'll refund the unused portion.

Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is". We work hard on accuracy but don't warrant that content is error-free, and deploying infrastructure to your own cloud accounts is at your own risk and cost. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms; we'll change the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in the product or by email. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales (consumers in other jurisdictions keep any mandatory local protections).
